Lema Flagship Store
Retail · London, UK
On King's Road, one of London's most prominent and high footfall shopping destinations, a flagship for the Italian furniture brand Lema is conceived as a quiet setting, one in which a collection can be read clearly. The interior is deliberately restrained, so that the pieces, not the architecture, hold the eye.
Material and proportion carry the space. A calm, considered backdrop and an unhurried sequence guide visitors through the brand's world at the pace of looking, developed in close collaboration with Lissoni Associati on the design coordination and quality of the interior scheme.
Appointed as architect and contract administrator, we oversaw the full delivery of the fit-out, managing all statutory processes and planning requirements, preparing the tender package and managing the contractor and works on site, alongside compliance checking against the relevant UK building codes and regulations.
The project sits within the studio's retail work for international design houses, each one asking the same question in a different key: how architecture might hold a collection without ever competing with it.
