Black Sea Suites

Hospitality · Shekvetili, Black Sea, Georgia

Shekvetili is a small resort town on Georgia's Black Sea coast, in the Guria region. It first grew as a maritime station under Ottoman rule, and today it is known for a beach of dark, mineral rich sand, unusual along this coastline, backed by a pine grove that runs right down to the shore. The sea here is shallow and calm, making it a popular choice for families, and the season runs from May, when the water reaches around 17°C, through to mid October, drawing visitors from Tbilisi for a break by the sea, among the pines and, nearby, the Tsitsinatela theme park.

It is within this setting that our feasibility study explores a 5-star resort for Shekvetili, conceived as a landmark destination in response to the client's brief. At its centre stands a sculptural tower, its form drawn directly from the surrounding natural landscape, giving the resort a distinct identity along this stretch of coast.

The brief called for generously sized, long stay suites within the five-star offering, tailored specifically to families and to guests staying for extended periods. Layouts, finishes and amenities throughout are designed to feel like a home from home, without compromising on the standards of luxury expected of a five-star resort.

The resort aims to capture the particular character of Shekvetili itself, translating the qualities that already draw visitors here into a considered, high-end place to stay.
